Each dot is a website. Two dots are joined when the same answer cites both, so if one site sits at the center of almost everything, the network looks like a dandelion.

Dandelion: sources only. The most central source is the hub, the 40 most-cited others are sub-hubs, and every remaining source hangs from the sub-hub it is most often cited alongside.
Answers: queries (small squares) linked to every source their answers cite. Nothing is pinned; a source sits in the middle only if many queries pull it there.
Orbit: the AI engine at the center and every source at a distance set by its ranking. The layout is imposed.
Domain: each node is a whole site, such as youtube.com.
Community: each node is one community inside a site, such as a YouTube channel or a subreddit. An engine can lean on a platform without leaning on any one channel. Links whose URL doesn’t name the account are grouped as “youtube.com/(unknown channel)” rather than split.
In the Dandelion view the 40 most-cited sources are sub-hubs, and every other source hangs from the sub-hub, or the hub, it is cited alongside.
Closest partner: the one it shares the most answers with relative to how often both are cited, so a niche source hangs from the sub-hub it is most distinctively tied to.
Most co-citations: the one it shares the most answers with outright, which favors the most-cited sub-hubs.
When Google answers you with AI, it cites a handful of sources. We asked hundreds of everyday questions and mapped every source the answers cited.
